Component 5: School Enhancement Program
Component 5 deals with schools struggling to meet the needs of their English learner and low-SES students. Texas A&M University has partnered with a district in the Houston area to bring about systemic change.
Instead of only focusing on instruction, this component utilizes data-based decision making and an external Root-Cause Analysis to help the campus identify areas of growth. The leadership of the campus receives mentoring/coaching, while teachers receive professional development to improve their instructional capacity.
The goal is campus improvement, and the means is a collaborative partnership.
