Project Enhancing Quality Teacher Preparation Through Research-Based Instructional Best Practices for Bilingual and English Learners

Thanks to an Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) professional development and evaluation research grant, Project Enhancing Quality Teacher Preparation Through Research-based Instructional Best Practices for Bilingual and English Learners (EBEST) is helping prepare and certify Texas in-service and pre-service teachers for the bilingual education or English as a second language (ESL) classroom.

Helping teachers gain bilingual and ESL endorsements

Teachers who consent to participate in this research project will receive no-cost bilingual or ESL online certification prep courses and course materials, with the opportunity for reimbursement of their exam fees and earning professional development hours. Each online course is 6 weeks.
Thank you for this gift. I have been teaching ELs for three years and now I realize how ill-prepared I was for it. With the knowledge you have given me, I am sure I will be successful.
Secondary teacher

I thoroughly enjoyed taking this online prep course for the ESL Supplemental Exam; I found all the resources, PowerPoints, and videos extremely helpful. The texts are an excellent resource which I will refer back to constantly. Thank you again for this opportunity.
